Both itineraries are suggested ones - offered as a skeleton to build your own itinerary.
Days may be longer and inclusive, or shorter and leisurely run.
The longer program may be interrupted by a day of leisure, or concluding your stay by few days of relaxation only. Extensions to Petra or Egypt are possible (although both countries are so rich culturally and historically that they deserve a separate visit.)
Tours of 1-2 days, even half a day, are very popular among business visitors who are in Israel for work and manage to clear some time for visits.
